TraxTime Manager's Edition
What is the Manager's Edition?
The TraxTime Manager's edition is very similar to the Standard edition, but it has some extra features. With the Manager's edition, you can also:
- Generate reports that include the times of other TraxTime users.
- Create a shared list of projects that appear in the project list of other TraxTime users.
- Put custom headers in your reports.
Shared Project List
The Manager's edition has several features for creating and maintaining a Shared Project List. A Shared Project List is a standardized list of projects that automatically appear in other TraxTime users' project lists.
The reason for creating a Shared Project List is to ensure that everyone is punching in and out of the same project names. A problem can arise if a TraxTime manager has a project named one way in her list, and another TraxTime user has it named differently in his list. In that situation, the Manager will not be able to generate reports that show the other user's times and memos assigned to that project.
The solution is to use the Shared Project List. The help file explains how to create a Shared Project List and set it up to appear in other users' copies of TraxTime.
Installation
Like the Standard edition of TraxTime, the Manager edition is not designed to be installed on a server. It should be installed on the Manager user's own computer.
Because the Manager's edition can do everything that the Standard edition does (and more!), a TraxTime Manager user does not need to have a copy of the Standard edition for his/her own use.
Anyone using the Trial or Standard edition of TraxTime can upgrade to the Manager's edition at any time. All previous data will be kept intact.
Licensing
One TraxTime Manager license covers one person only.
For example, let's say there are five people in your organization, and you want two of them to have the Manager's edition, and you want the other three to have the Standard edition. In that case you will need to purchase two Manager licenses and three Standard licenses.

Reporting Differences

Notice the list of TraxTime employees. To add TraxTime users to the list, you need to have network access to their data files. Most organizations find it easiest to move all TraxTime users' data files to a common directory on a server. You can find details in the TraxTime help file, under the topic Keeping Data On A Network.
